Day 6

Not happy Jan!! Another not so good day. I didn’t go to the gym, it was too hot, I was too tired blah blah etc etc. I don’t know if I am a serious contender in this challenge or not!! I have no idea what is wrong with the scales but I’m up 1.5kg since Thursday and I haven’t had anything bad to eat. I’m hoping that because of the heat I am retaining fluid. Fingers crossed that’s all it is. I will be devastated if I don’t have a decent loss.

On a positive note we went to see Grease tonight! Rather than eating out we decided to have a healthy dinner at home before we left! Go me!!

On that short and sweet note it’s time for me to go to bed. I have got my first group training session in the morning so I will see how that goes!!

Day 5

My first day that I haven’t wanted to post! No exercise for me today. I had the day off work so no excuses! I was going to go this afternoon but Jon came home from work early and convinced me to go out with him. Then we had problems with his car.  So we finally got home then Joy and Geoff came over to help fix the car. Then after that Jon wanted to go and check out Costco. I should have said no but I didn’t! Luckily we just had a look and didn’t buy anything. There was so much junk food!!! If we ever decide to have a party I will join, but for the every day shopping there wasn’t really much point in us joining.

Then we went and got dinner. Roast chicken and salad for me. Other food I had today is my oats and maple syrup for breakfast and ham and salad for lunch. I’ve had a few packets of the popped chips for snacks along with some Longan’s and 2 Vita Wheats. I’ve also had a few cans of coke zero. There is nothing high calorie that I have eaten but I feel very blah. I don’t know why… maybe it’s because I haven’t been to the gym. Fingers crossed the scales aren’t too bad for me in the morning!

Day 4

Another good day today! Let’s see how long this can/will last! No work today (woohoo) so I got to have my yummy oats with maple syrup for breakfast. Yummo!! I was a good girl and even measured my maple syrup. I then met Rachelle for lunch at Doncaster (I may have stopped at Myer and bought myself a top from Sass and Bide, on sale of course!)  I had my usual non Chadstone shopping centre lunch.. some salmon sashimi and a bottle of water.  Then I went to see Emma the dietitian. I was honest with her and of course she was as supportive as always. I’m glad I went back to see her.

Steak and salad for tea. Jon had veggies but it was too hot for me and my salad was yummy!!

Then we did a late night gym session where I did 15 mins running @ 9.5km and did 15 mins on the treadmill. I then started the WOW for the 12 week challenge! Didn’t quite finish though because Jon wanted to go home! Now its time for bed!!

Day 3

Another day done!!! At the moment I don’t feel to great. I have a bit of a headache but I will go to bed after this post. I had a good food day today. Breakfast and lunch were exactly the same as yesterday.  I had 4 vita wheat 9 grains when I got home from work.

I then headed off to the gym to see my trainer Alison. I did a 1km run on the treadmill @ 10.0km/hr then did some work with her that included squats, lunges, push ups, triceps dips, bicep curls, sit ups and a couple of other things. I finished of the session with another run on the treadmill. I did the first 500m @ 11.0km then the second 500m @ 10kms I just couldn’t keep going with the 11! After my session I then did 30 mins on the treadmill with an incline of 15 and a speed of 6.8km. I was buggered after that!

Dinner was a chicken steak with left over salad. I added a bit of extra tomato, cucumber, mushroom and avocado. I was a bit naughty and had 2 cans of diet lemonade and a small packet of the popped potato chips.

It will be interesting to see what my weight does in the morning!!

Day 2

Another good day so far!  Food was good.  Brekky was the same.. Yoghurt at work then cereal and milk at morning tea time. Today I also had a cup of peppermint tea to try and fill me up. Then lunch my skinny soup and a slice of (body works better with)  Burgen bread. I had 4 vita wheat 9 grains when I got home and then had my dinner which was Bolognaise with slim fettuccine.  My treat was a can of coke zero with dinner.  At work there were left over corn chips and crackers from an afternoon tea yesterday. Without thinking I picked one up and put it in my mouth.  I then realised what I was doing and took it out of my mouth and put it in the bin!!

I went to the gym tonight. I was a bit devastated to see a few of the other competitors there! I’m REALLY going to have to work hard if I want to be in the running for a prize! I did 16 mins on the treadmill jogging @ 9.0 km/hr then 15 mins on the treadmill level 8 trying to stick around 60 rpm. Then did 30mins on the treadmill @ 6.8km/hr with an incline of 15.  According to the machines I burnt around 800 calories.  But I don’t know how accurate that really is. I need to get a new battery for my HRM so I can get some accurate numbers.

I’m going to head off to bed now. The sooner I go to bed the less likely I am to give into the munchies!!

Day 1

Food yes,  exercise no. Well today was day 1 of the challenge.  I have done well with my food. I ate a tub of yoghurt when I got to work. Then I had my morning tea which was my cereal with low fat milk. Lunch was my skinny sweet pumpkin soup with a slice of the Burgen weight management bread. When I got home from work I had a packet of the popped potato chips and 2 9 Grain Vita Wheats. Mum and Dad came over for dinner and to pick up their dog Jorgie. We had a chicken with a tossed salad and a crunchy noodle coleslaw. My treat was a can of coke zero.  According to my fitness pal I am under my 1200 calories!! Then I headed off to listen to the dietitian at the challenge. It was good to hear it again but there really was nothing that I didn’t already know! It was  good to see my some of my teammates/competition! I don’t know what my chances to win are but I’m certainly going to give it my best shot!!  Now if I can repeat today’s food and add some exercise tomorrow I will be a happy camper!!

12 Week Challenge

Last year in anticipation for my sister’s wedding I managed to lose 30kg. I was very proud of my work even though I was 10kg short of my goal weight. This year I have already gained 5kg back. I do NOT want to go back to the old Laura. Fortunately my gym has a 12 week challenge that starts on the 3rd February. Exactly what I need to help me get back on track.
